Past.
The Old Telephone Exchange as it is fondly know by locals was built in 1938 as a repeater station to assist with telecommunications,
Obviously at that unsettled time in history it was looked upon as very important building and was built to withstand bombing!
The building back then consisted of a small kitchen, toilet, and a battery room (now the Pink Bedroom). The rest of the building was one big open space holding all the relevant equipment of the time. The property was never designed to be lived in at that time. There was no water mains, the only source of water being what was collected from the rhone pipes..
Present
The Building was converted in the 1980's specifically to be used as a Guest House with there being 5 en-suite bedrooms all on the ground floor. An impressive 30m conservatory was added which affords stunning country views over Nairn-shire.
